John Seedorff
John M. Seedorff, 60, Excelsior Springs, Mo. (formerly of Lawson, Mo.), died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006, at his home. Mr. Seedorff was born Oct. 28, 1945, in Oelwein, Iowa, the son of Leslie and Genevieve (Thompson) Seedorff. He was married to Linda (Hodges) Seedorff on March 15, 1971; she survives, of the home. He worked for more than 31 years for General Motors, retiring in 1997. He had also coached young baseball players in Excelsior Springs and Lawson. He was preceded in death by one son, Christopher Seedorff; and one brother, Dean Seedorff. In addition to his wife, Linda, survivors include two sons, Rick Searcy and Paul Searcy, both of Raytown; two daughters, Heather Pelzer, Lawson, and Holly Jones, Excelsior Springs; one brother, Randy Seedorff, Liberty; five sisters, Diane Layman, Kansas City, Alice Dennis, Independence, Linda Adams, Raytown, Vonna Seedorff, Kansas City, and Brenda Ray, Independence; and 11 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, at Polley Funeral Home in Lawson, with visitation to follow until 9 p.m. Military graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kan.
